We're super stoked and honoured to present this Empowering Women, part of the Bboon + Winter Follow the Moon Series, featuring inspiring conversations with Indigenous women and Indigenous women allies. Join us for this three part series which will take place at Ode'mini Giizis Cafe on January 11, February 22, and March 22, 2025, from 11 - 2 pm.




Lauren Van Ewyk, of Courtright, ON

Lauren Van Ewyk is a registered social worker, foster mom, and agricultural mental health advocate based in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. She is the Co-Founder and CEO of the National Farmers Mental Health Alliance, where she works to support the mental wellness of farmers and their families.


Dr. Judy Peters, Walpole Island Unceded Anishinaabeg First Nation

Dr. Judy Peters (Walpole Island unceded territory, Anishinaabeg nation) is a dedicated family physician with a passion for improving healthcare in Indigenous communities. She has faced challenges in her career but continues to work tirelessly to provide quality care and advocate for her patients.




Roxanne White (Kettle & Stony Point, Anishinaabeg nation) as a Social Worker, Roxanne supports clients in identifying and overcoming challenges to live more fulfilling lives, using a holistic approach that addresses spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical well-being. She is also a member of the Sunset Women's Drum Circle.



Tia Kennedy, Oneida FN of the Thames and Walpole Island Anishinaabeg Unceded First Nation

Tia Kennedy (Oneida Nation of the Thames and Walpole Island unceded Anishinaabeg territory) is a passionate Indigenous & Environmental rights activist dedicated to promoting clean water rights and reawakening Clan focused governance systems in her respective communties. Her advocacy work includes education, and raising awareness through documentaries and public speaking.
